1MISSION | Giving people in poverty the opportunity to earn a house

    General

How much does a typical house cost?

A typical house costs between $8,000 and $9,500. This range accounts for the fact that each community is different, with each requiring its own design and building process.

    Can I donate by check?

Yes. To make a donation by check, you can mail the check to our office at: 1 N. 1st Street, Suite 612 Phoenix, AZ 85004. Please indicate in the memo line where you would like the funds designated. ie: General Operations, Housing Projects, Community Development, etc.

Where can I learn more about 1MISSION?

A great place to start is right here at 1MISSION.org. If you are still looking for more, we encourage you to check out our social media channels or contact us at any time.

    What is your mailing address?

1 N. 1 st Street, 6 th Floor Phoenix, AZ 85004. Feel free to send us a friendly card or stop in and say hi!

Where will I stay in Mexico?

For Puerto Peñasco trips people typically stay at our basecamp. The basecamp is like an RV park. It has full service RV spots, bunkhouses and tent camping. There are bathrooms, showers and a kitchen and dining room.

    Can I buy 1MISSION merchandise?

Absolutely. Head to the 1MISSION store to see all the merch we have in stock.

What kind of houses does 1MISSION build?

We use locally available materials, so houses look different in each community. Some communities are prone to earthquakes and landslides, while others experience severe heat and wind. We rely on the local communities to construct houses that make sense in their specific areas.

Why does 1MISSION also fund community development programs?

Because poverty affects all aspects of people’s lives. Any isolated attempt to fight poverty – even something as crucial as providing safe, secure housing – would be like putting a band-aid on a broken arm. Our model catalyzes long-term development by inviting community members to be active participants, not passive recipients.

    What does 1MISSION do?

We're a community development organization giving people in poverty the opportunity to earn a house by serving their community. Community members are active participants in development not passive recipients.

Is there an age restriction for trips to Mexico?

No, there is no age restriction. The Mexico trips are a family friendly trip with lots of things to do for all ages.

What will I be doing if I go on a trip to Mexico?
